Beautiful Black and White Photography

This week, my class and I were given our first roll of black and white film to shoot which we will then start developing next week.  It's the first time I've ever shot in black in white (although I have shot in colour (digital) and converted to black and white) so I've been doing a little research on the subject.  While doing so I came across a brilliant resource from the folks at Smashing Magazine.

The article; Beautiful Black and White Photography, is described as a "modest attempt to inspire designers for experimenting with black and white" and includes not only a selection of great images but links to the photographers who took them.  Well I'm not a designer but I am inspired, hopefully it will do the same for you.

I've included one of my favourite black and white photos below, a two minute exposure taken with a 10x neutral density filter.

  2. Thanks Brian, I love the 10xND as it allows for shots like this to be taken in the middle of the day. If I recall correctly the exposure time was approximately 2 minutes.

Darren Here, having problems replying as myself.
